2019 Spring Break Photo Safari Program
This Spring Break, Shine On Chicago! partnered with The Art Institute of Chicago to create a 1-week Photo Safari Program for teens currently part of their school's CTE program.
The 1-week program included teens from Back of the Yards College Prep and King College Prep, both CTE Digital Design schools.

7 Teens from 2 CTE schools participated in the week long cohort. The program started with teens touring the museum and studying the AIC exhibition, "Night Coming Ternderly, Black" by photographer, Dawoud Bey.
One of the week's highlights was when teens toured the AIC Imaging Department and heard AIC staff photographers talk about how they got jobs in the business, and their roles in documenting and archiving the Art Institute's collection of over 300,000 art objects!

In addition to the events at AIC, teens were able to go on 3 Photo Safaris around the museum and Millennium Park.
The week ended with a Pizza Party and Photo Critique of the teens' photos they took during the week. See the gallery below for some of their remarkable images!
